Job Description

Overview TheMaintenance Director is responsible for the general upkeep of all buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment. He/she is expected to work in all weather conditions and occasionally may be required to work irregular shifts to maintain the facility and grounds. The Maintenance Director ensures that safety inspections of resident's rooms and other components of the facility are conducted in accordance with current policies and that written inspection reports and records maintained.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Confirms that all facility and contracted staff use appropriate safety equipment in the performance of their duties. Checks the Maintenance Request Log daily and ensures that all requests are completed in a timely manner. Communicates with the nurse on duty each morning to ensure that all resident transportation requests for that day are scheduled with the appropriate vehicle to meet resident needs. Completes all required inspections and follows-up to ensure inspections are completed within the required time frame. Ensures that lawn, tree, scrub, and garden care is maintained in a fashion that is appropriate. Makes certain that snow and ice are removed from driveways, sidewalks, and decks in a timely manner to ensure the safety of staff, residents, and visitors. Initiates monthly fire drills in accordance with state regulations and completes reports related to each drill. Ensures ice machines are cleaned and descaled as needed and when requested by the Food Service Director. Ensures that building maintenance is completed on a regularly scheduled basis. Maintains lawn sprinkler system. Makes certain that air filters on all outside HVAC units are checked routinely and replaced as needed. Supervises the maintenance of individual resident's room air conditioners. Ensures that all fire extinguishers and fire systems are inspected and serviced in accordance with current state regulations. Guarantees the safe use and proper maintenance of all facility hand and power tools. Performs other tasks as required for the good of the residents, the facility and the staff as needed.

$25.00 - $32.00 per hour
