Job Description

Position Summary The Lead Property Care & Maintenance Technician oversees the day-to-day care, maintenance, safety, and presentation of Stowe Country Homes' premium properties. This hands-on role combines maintenance, preventative care, seasonal preparation, vendor coordination, work-order management, and property operations. A crucial responsibility of this role is the ability to respond to guest needs in a timely manner, ensuring a premier guest experience. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable taking initiative while supporting the Property Care team. Key Responsibilities Property Care & Maintenance Oversee daily maintenance and upkeep of properties, buildings, grounds, and outdoor areas. Conduct routine and preventative inspections and identify repair, safety, and improvement needs. Identify, coordinate and perform hands-on repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. Monitor heating, plumbing, electrical, appliances, hot tubs (chemical balancing), fireplaces, utilities, and equipment. Ensure properties are clean, orderly, well-maintained, and guest-ready. Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, work areas, and accurate maintenance records. Work Orders & Preventative Maintenance Prioritize and track maintenance requests based on urgency and guest impact. Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and address recurring issues. Identify larger maintenance needs, projects, renovations, and improvements and communicate recommendations to the Property Care Manager. Vendors & Property Operations Coordinate contractors, service providers, landscapers, cleaners, tradespeople, and specialty vendors. Meet vendors on-site, obtain estimates, monitor work, and follow up on deficiencies. Assist with inventory and procurement of property and maintenance supplies. Prepare properties for arrivals, departures, owner visits, special events, and seasonal use. Guest, Owner & Team Support Respond promptly to guest-impacting and urgent maintenance issues. Work with Guest Services and Property Care to resolve problems professionally. Support owner requests and maintain positive relationships with homeowners, guests, vendors, and employees. Safety & Security Inspect properties for hazards and take appropriate corrective action. Help ensure compliance with Vermont fire and safety requirements and SCH standards. Qualifications Experience in property maintenance, facilities, hospitality, vacation rentals, construction, landscaping, estate management, or a related field. Strong residential maintenance and troubleshooting skills. Ability to determine when professional assistance is required. Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and prioritize changing needs. Professional, courteous, and service-oriented demeanor. Basic computer and smartphone skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb stairs/ladders, and perform hands-on maintenance. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Performance will be measured by timely maintenance, effective vendor coordination, proactive problem-solving, property presentation, communication, reliability, and professionalism.
Pay:
$25.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 50.0 per week
