Job Description

Lead Technician Fast Track To Shop Foreman Confidential Auburn, WA Job Details Full-time $80,000 - $120,000 a year 14 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications EPA 609 Certification Driver's License Performing background checks Process management Full Job Description We are hiring a Lead Technician on a track to Shop Foreman. The seat is real and it is open, but it is earned, not handed over. We will observe how you work: the habits you bring, how you manage your time, how you carry the floor when no one is watching. You will have real autonomy over your own schedule, and with that autonomy comes the expectation that you own the mechanical side of WSM. We mean A to Z ownership. Not just coming up with the plan, but building the tools to measure the numbers, implementing the training, guiding the techs day to day, and keeping all of it aligned with where WSM is going. You run production end to end: the plan, the measurement, the process that holds the numbers up, the people who hit them, and the turnaround that proves it is working. Speed through the shop, done right the first time, is the goal. If you can diagnose hard problems, do heavy work, lead a floor toward a number, and bring other techs up with you, this is your build. What You Will Do Own the mechanical side of WSM A to Z, from the plan all the way through to the result Build executable plans and the tools to measure them, so the numbers that matter are tracked, not guessed Put the processes in place that reinforce those numbers and hold them up under volume Implement the training and guide the techs day to day, raising the skill and the speed of the whole crew Keep production aligned with where WSM is going, not just what is on the floor today Drive turnaround. Move units through cleanly and quickly without sacrificing the standard Perform moderate to heavy mechanical work across highline and performance vehicles Diagnose complex and heavily modified vehicles with confidence Set the standard for the shop, and as foreman, own the queue, the assignments, and the quality sign off What Your Day Looks Like Take in units from recon and assess scope, diagnosing driveability, mechanical, and modification issues Perform and oversee repairs from moderate to heavy Prioritize the queue and assign work across the techs to keep turnaround tight Coach the techs through the harder jobs, building their skill so the whole shop gets faster Track the shop numbers, see where time is being lost, and adjust the process to close the gap Quality check completed work before any unit moves on to detail Coordinate with the recon coordinator on parts and ETAs so nothing waits on a phone call Keep the shop running to standard and to its turnaround targets as volume grows across both sites What We Are Looking For Someone focused and goal oriented who owns the work and gets the job done Someone ready to own the mechanical side of WSM, with the habits and time management that earn the foreman seat Someone who can own production, build a plan around the numbers, and hold the shop to it Someone who can develop the techs already in the shop and bring the whole crew up Someone who treats turnaround as the goal and works the process until the units move Someone who does not get held up by trivial matters, who clears the small problem and keeps the floor moving Someone who adapts when a job turns sideways and moves forward instead of stalling out Someone who is always sharpening the process, because we are building this shop to run better every month Strong diagnostic skills, the kind that troubleshoot modified and performance builds, not just stock cars The ability to handle moderate and heavy repair work A leadership instinct, because this role grows into running the floor Experience with European, luxury, or performance vehicles, strongly preferred Requirements Valid Washington State driver license with a clean and insurable record Legally authorized to work in the U.S. Able to pass a background check Your own tools Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and handle the physical demands of shop work Prior experience as a lead tech, A tech, or foreman, strongly preferred Why This Seat Is Worth It A new shop, lifts already in, and a foreman seat waiting for the person who earns it. You will help build this operation from the ground up, not just work inside one somebody else built. For an ambitious tech who wants to lead, there is no better starting point.
