Facilities & Maintenance Manager - Church & Christian School Gospel Outreach of Olympia Full-Time | $95,000-$110,000 DOE Gospel Outreach of Olympia is seeking a dependable, hands-on Facilities & Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, and ongoing improvement of our church and private school facilities. This role combines day-to-day building maintenance with preventive maintenance, contractor coordination, room readiness, special projects, and regular communication with church and school leadership. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the property, anticipates needs, solves problems, and keeps leadership informed about facility conditions, priorities, and ongoing work. Primary Responsibilities Buildings & Grounds — Maintain doors, windows, lighting, parking areas, walkways, playgrounds, fences, gates, signage, landscaping, irrigation, roofs, gutters, and exterior areas. Repairs & Maintenance — Handle or coordinate routine repairs involving walls, furniture, restrooms, kitchen equipment, fixtures, and other facility needs. Building Systems & Preventive Maintenance — Oversee HVAC, filters, heating, fire extinguishers, alarm and sprinkler systems, water fountains, security cameras, jockey pump testing, and other scheduled maintenance and inspections. Facility Readiness & Organization — Coordinate cleaning, restroom supplies, storage areas, and room setups for school classes, church services, meetings, and events, including preparing spaces for the following day. Contractors, Vendors & Special Projects — Schedule and oversee cleaners, contractors, inspectors, and service companies, and help coordinate facility improvements such as exterior safety lighting, security upgrades, equipment installations, remodeling, landscaping, and other projects. Leadership Communication & Updates — Maintain consistent daily and weekly communication with church leadership and school administrators regarding current maintenance needs, completed work, upcoming projects, safety concerns, contractor activity, priorities, and items requiring decisions or follow-up. Additional Responsibilities The Facilities & Maintenance Manager will: Maintain a schedule of recurring inspections, servicing, and preventive maintenance. Coordinate scheduled kitchen equipment maintenance and inspections. Monitor facility conditions and identify repair or safety needs before they become larger problems. Provide timely updates when urgent or significant facility issues arise. Maintain clear records of open maintenance items, scheduled work, and completed projects. Maintain orderly backstage, storage, mechanical, and HVAC areas. Coordinate annual or as-needed carpet cleaning and stain removal. Adjust heating and other building systems as needed. Maintain gates and operating schedules. Support winter safety needs, including ice melt and walkway conditions. Help leadership plan and prioritize larger repairs and facility improvements. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is: Dependable, trustworthy, organized, and self-motivated. A clear and consistent communicator. Comfortable keeping leadership and administrators regularly informed. Comfortable performing hands-on building maintenance and repairs. Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently. Experienced in coordinating contractors, vendors, and service providers. Able to recognize when specialized or licensed contractors are needed. Able to pass background check. Safety-conscious and attentive to detail. Experience in facilities management, building maintenance, construction, property management, mechanical systems, or a related field is preferred.
