Job Description
Maintenance Director Memory Haven Sumner | Sumner, WA Memory Haven Sumner is an independently owned and operated memory care community dedicated to providing exceptional care and a safe, welcoming home for our residents. We are seeking a hands-on, dependable Maintenance Director who takes pride in their work and enjoys making a meaningful difference every day. This is more than a maintenance position—it's an opportunity to help create a safe, comfortable environment where residents, families, and staff feel at home. Position Details Full-Time (40 hours per week) Hourly, non-exempt position Competitive pay based on experience Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, and Paid Time Off Mileage reimbursement for approved work-related travel What You'll Do As our Maintenance Director, you'll be responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, appearance, and upkeep of our community, including: Performing routine maintenance and repairs throughout the building, resident rooms, and common areas Maintaining HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and other building systems Completing preventative maintenance and maintaining required documentation Maintaining the grounds and outdoor spaces, including mowing, edging, pruning, weed control, leaf removal, seasonal clean-up, irrigation monitoring, and keeping walkways and outdoor areas safe and attractive Overseeing life safety systems, including fire safety equipment and sprinkler systems Coordinating required inspections and ensuring compliance with state and local regulations Working with outside vendors and contractors as needed Ordering maintenance supplies and managing inventory Supervising housekeeping services Responding promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff Helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and team members What We're Looking For At least two years of maintenance experience Experience in assisted living, memory care, healthcare, or long-term care preferred General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and basic landscaping equipment Ability to troubleshoot and complete routine repairs independently Experience maintaining building grounds and landscaping Strong organizational and time management skills Experience coordinating vendors and maintaining maintenance records Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to jump in wherever needed Someone who enjoys working with older adults and understands the importance of maintaining a safe and comfortable home for our residents Why Join Memory Haven?
