We are seeking an organized, customer-focused Assistant Service Manager to help lead our automotive service department. We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, communicating with customers, supporting technicians, and helping a department operate efficiently. Responsibilities Assist with the daily operations of our automotive service department Schedule appointments and coordinate workflow with the Service Manager and technicians Prepare repair estimates and clearly communicate repair recommendations to customers Keep customers informed throughout the repair process Open and close repair orders accurately and efficiently Coordinate parts availability with our in-house parts department Help maintain technician productivity and efficient shop operations Resolve customer concerns professionally and confidently Ensure repair orders are complete, accurate, and well documented Assist with training, coaching, and improving department processes Work closely with management to continuously improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Has previous experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or Assistant Service Manager Possesses a solid understanding of automotive repair and maintenance Communicates professionally with customers, technicians, and coworkers Remains calm and organized while managing multiple priorities Is detail oriented and highly organized Takes ownership and accountability rather than assigning blame Believes great teams solve problems together Is comfortable using computers and shop management software Is looking to build a long term career, not just another job Preferred Qualifications Three or more years of experience in automotive service advising or service management Experience preparing estimates and presenting maintenance and repair recommendations Strong knowledge of automotive repair procedures Valid driver's license with a good driving record Benefits Competitive salary based on experience 100% company-paid health insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid holidays 401(k) retirement plan Monday-Friday schedule (typically 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM) Stable, family-owned company serving the Fox Valley for more than 70 years
