Maintenance Manager Job Summary The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the upkeep, repair, functionality, and appearance of SkyDance Pet Lodge facilities and grounds. This is a hands-on role for a skilled, dependable, and solutions-oriented individual who can independently handle general maintenance and repairs while coordinating specialized work with outside contractors and licensed professionals. The ideal candidate is confident in building repairs, proactive in identifying maintenance needs, and comfortable overseeing vendors for specialized services. Essential Functions To succeed in this role, candidates must be able to: Perform general building maintenance and repairs inside and outside SkyDance facilities Repair and maintain walls, trim, baseboards, doors, frames, hardware, siding, flooring, and other building finishes Complete basic improvement, painting, and touch-up projects Repair or replace faucets, fixtures, doorknobs, locks, and other basic hardware Troubleshoot maintenance issues, determine practical solutions, and identify when outside expertise is needed Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other maintenance equipment Perform routine preventative maintenance and address issues Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Respond to urgent maintenance and facility needs as they arise Coordinate, schedule, and oversee HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, and other specialized contractors Communicate with contractors regarding the scope of work, scheduling, access, and facility requirements Monitor contracted work to ensure it is completed safely, properly, and to expectations Identify maintenance priorities and communicate larger repair or replacement needs to leadership Obtain necessary parts, materials, tools, and supplies Maintain basic records of repairs, maintenance, contractor work, and facility needs Travel between SkyDance facilities Assist with occasional after-hours or emergency maintenance needs Skills & Abilities Our ideal candidate: Has strong experience with general building maintenance and repairs Is skilled with drywall, trim, doors, siding, painting, flooring, fixtures, and DIY projects Can work independently and take ownership of projects from start to finish Is proficient with common hand and power tools Can troubleshoot problems and determine practical solutions Is organized and able to prioritize multiple maintenance needs Is comfortable coordinating and overseeing outside contractors Has a basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, and other building systems Understands when specialized or regulated work should be handled by licensed professionals Is dependable, proactive, safety-conscious, and committed to quality workmanship Communicates professionally with leadership and contractors Has basic computer skills for communication, scheduling, and documentation Can lift 50+ pounds and perform frequent physical activity, including bending, twisting, climbing, standing, and moving throughout the facilities Has a valid driver's license and reliable transportation Is willing to work flexible hours, including occasional nights, weekends, or after-hours emergencies The SkyDance Difference As Maintenance Manager, you'll take ownership of the physical condition of our facilities and help ensure SkyDance remains a safe, clean, functional, and welcoming environment for pets, pet parents, and employees.
