Fleet Supervisor Transtar Medical Transportation — West Allis, WI Full-time | On-site | $68,000-$78,000 per year Transtar Medical Transportation is hiring a Fleet Supervisor to own the daily readiness of our vehicle fleet. This is not a paper-pushing coordinator job. You will be the go-to person who keeps vehicles inspected, maintained, equipped, documented, and back on the road. You will work with drivers, dispatch, management, and outside vendors — and you will follow issues through until they are done. Transtar has provided non-emergency medical transportation in the Milwaukee area since 1997. Our vehicles carry patients. Safety, cleanliness, and reliability matter. What you will own Daily fleet status: which vehicles are in service, out of service, in the shop, or available as spares Inspections and vehicle readiness before units go out and after they return from repair Scheduling and follow-up on maintenance, repairs, body work, windshields, warranty work, and recalls Coordination with local vendors and dealerships, including getting vehicles to and from shops Accurate maintenance records, damage records, invoices, registrations, and fleet inventory Wheelchair equipment, securement straps, seat belts, and required vehicle supplies Fleet cleanliness and appearance, including the car-wash program Spare-vehicle assignment and communication with dispatch Basic Verizon / telematics troubleshooting and daily updates New-vehicle setup and vehicles leaving the fleet for sale Driver and dispatch support when a vehicle has a problem After-hours judgment calls when a vehicle issue comes up outside normal hours - The after-hours dispatch handled basic issues, but may need to call fleet supervisor for support and direction. Purchasing authority You can make routine vehicle-related decisions up to $1,000 per occurrence to keep vehicles safe and available. Larger or unusual expenses go through management unless immediate action is needed for safety. What success looks like Vehicles are safe, clean, equipped, and ready when operations needs them Downtime is short because you schedule work, chase vendors, and follow up Records are current enough that anyone can see a vehicle's status and history Registrations, inspections, and recalls stay current Drivers get help without chaos, and dispatch always knows what is available Problems get caught early instead of turning into expensive repairs Who this is for You will do well here if you are: Organized and follow through without being asked twice Mechanically minded and comfortable around vehicles Personable with drivers and vendors, but willing to hold a standard and negotiate Able to juggle several issues at once and decide what matters first Comfortable making routine decisions and asking for help on the big ones Willing to get hands-on when that is the fastest way to solve a problem Computer-capable enough for accurate records and daily status updates Safety-minded Previous fleet, shop, dealership, transportation, NEMT, or logistics experience is a plus. It is not required if you can show you will take ownership of this fleet. Schedule and work location This is a full-time, on-site role based in West Allis, WI. Core work is during daytime operations. You will also be a contact for after-hours vehicle issues and will use good judgment, with safety first. Pay $68,000-$78,000 per year, based on experience.
