Job Description
Are you a skilled facilities management professional looking to make a meaningful impact? The West Virginia Military Authority is seeking a dedicated and organized Assistant Maintenance Manager to join our Facilities Management team. In this pivotal role, you will be the bridge between administrative oversight and operational success, ensuring our facilities remain safe, efficient, and well-maintained to support our mission. About the Role As the Assistant Maintenance Manager, you will operate at the full-performance level, providing the necessary technical and administrative leadership to oversee the operations, maintenance, construction, and renovation of our military facilities within the Charleston-Metro region. You will lead a talented team of Trades Specialists, fostering a culture of excellence, coaching, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor Trades Specialists, including managing timekeeping, performance evaluations, coaching, and professional development.Operational Oversight:
Manage daily operations, including the development of maintenance budgets, oversight of purchase orders, and administration of statewide contracts.Facilities Management:
Monitor and plan for facility maintenance and renovations, determining adequacy of workspace and recommending necessary improvements such as structural, heating, and ventilation upgrades.Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all facilities adhere to state building codes, fire regulations, OSHA standards, and electrical safety laws.Workflow Efficiency:
Manage, track, and process work orders to ensure timely repairs and streamlined communication within the region. What We Are Looking For Experience or strong knowledge in the principles and methods of military facilities management. Proven ability to formulate and implement operational plans and maintenance procedures. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications. Strong communication skills to interpret blueprints, revise project plans, and coordinate with diverse teams.Training:
High School diploma or equivalent, with further education preferred.Experience:
Five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in Operations, Production, Facilities Maintenance and or as a Process/Program Analyst.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Position is contingent upon continued receipt of Department of Defense funding.
- This position falls under the West Virginia Consolidated Public Retirement System.
- Position may require a secret security clearance. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance during any point of their employment.

- A valid driver's license is required.
