Temporary Meter Technician Part Time

The purpose of this temporary position is to provide service for customers with the City of Concord by reading water and electric meters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ø Reads water and electric meters. Ø Prepares and maintains a variety of records and/or logs related to daily activities, inventory, and/or other related items.

Supplemental Functions:

Ø Performs other similar duties as required.

Job Specifications and Qualifications:

Knowledge:

Customer service principles Recordkeeping principles Basic mathematical concepts Safe work practices City and county streets.

Licensing and Certifications:

Valid North Carolina Driver's License.

Physical Requirements:

Positions in this class require: standing, fine dexterity, walking, lifting, carrying, sitting, reaching, handling, kneeling, vision, foot controls, bending, crouching, hearing, twisting, talking.

Medium Work:

Exerting 20 - 50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly. Incumbents may be subjected to extreme temperature, wetness and/or humidity, respiratory hazards, noise and vibration, physical hazards.
