Main Functions:

Maintain all aspects of the water distribution system, including water lines, valves, and meter systems, to support water quality and customer service.

Duties:

• Maintain booster stations.
• Exercise and maintain distribution system valves.
• Assist with One-Call line locates.
• Perform water testing and sampling and maintain records required by the ND Dept. of Health and the EPA.
• Update and maintain the GPS/GIS mapping system.
• Provide on-site supervision of R&T line hookups, water line break repairs, and line taps.
• Provide coverage for plant operators when needed.
• Work with the Business Manager and customers as needed.
• Perform meter readings and meter pit maintenance and use applicable meter software.
• Help train new operators in all duties required to operate and maintain the distribution system.
• Maintain an inventory of supplies for the maintenance and repair of pipelines, meters, and accessories.
• Maintain a clean company vehicle and work environment.

Working Conditions:

• Scheduled shifts are typically nine (9) hours Monday through Thursday and four (4) hours on Friday.
• May be required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, with paid compensation.

Employment Requirements:

• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and computer systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Class 1 Distribution certificate must be obtained within two (2) years.
• Class 2 Distribution certificate must be obtained within three (3) years.
• Lime softening plant experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with electronics, pumps, and water distribution preferred.
• Five years of related work experience is preferred.
• Proficient spoken and written English.
• Punctual, meticulous, and reliable.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interact courteously and professionally with the public and fellow employees.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds, climb stairs, and occasionally work at heights.
• Must follow R&T Water District's Personnel Policy.

Pay:

$30.00 - $36.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
