Field Collector III
Job Description
Opportunity Profile OPPD is looking for two Field Collector IIIs to join our Customer Service field operations team. If you enjoy working independently, being out in the community, solving problems, and interacting directly with customers, this could be a great opportunity. Field Collector IIIs play an important role in supporting OPPD customers and protecting revenue by completing field collection activities, meter-related work, service disconnects and reconnects, and other customer-facing field assignments. This is a hands-on position where no two days are exactly the same. You'll spend much of your day in the field, working directly with customers while following established procedures, safety expectations, and payment-extension guidelines. What You'll Do As a Field Collector III, you will: Complete routine field collection activities, including service disconnects, reconnects, and meter readings. Visit customer locations to support payment collection and provide information about available financial-assistance options. Perform routine meter-related work and accurately document meter status and readings to support billing and field operations. Identify and report suspected unauthorized service usage or diversions and escalate situations requiring additional investigation. Support special investigations and programs, including Cool Smart and Surge-related work. Obtain keys and other access materials needed to reach meters and assist with basic inventory maintenance. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to field activities. Safely operate an OPPD vehicle and follow all required safety procedures and PPE requirements. Work independently while knowing when an issue needs to be escalated to other team members. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is dependable, safety-minded, comfortable working independently, and able to interact professionally with customers in a variety of situations. Successful candidates should be able to: Provide strong customer service, including during potentially difficult or sensitive conversations. Follow established procedures while using sound judgment in the field. Stay organized and accurately document work completed. Manage a daily workload and schedule with limited direct supervision. Recognize situations that need to be escalated. Safely operate company vehicles and maintain reliable attendance. A valid driver's license is required. Schedule This position works Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The position may also require overtime or callout work when needed to support continued business operations.
