This is a full-time field position working primarily at commercial and residential properties throughout New York City. The position combines scheduled utility meter reading with low-voltage installation, troubleshooting, and field-service work. Responsibilities Read electric, gas, water, steam, and other utility meters at assigned properties. Accurately record and submit meter readings. Photograph and document meters and field conditions. Identify abnormal readings, damaged meters, wiring problems, and inaccessible equipment. Install and troubleshoot low-voltage wiring and communication cabling. Assist with installation of submeters, remote-reading equipment, gateways, sensors, and IoT devices. Assist with meter replacements, upgrades, testing, and commissioning. Perform field surveys and document existing equipment. Coordinate access with building managers, superintendents, and engineering staff. Maintain an organized monthly schedule and ensure assigned properties are completed on time. Communicate field issues promptly to TNE's engineering and billing teams. Qualifications Low-voltage, electrical, cable, building-maintenance, meter-reading, or similar field experience preferred. Mechanically and technically inclined. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable using a smartphone, tablet, email, and basic computer applications. Able to work independently and manage a field schedule. Professional and dependable. Valid driver's license preferred. Comfortable traveling between properties throughout NYC. Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work in basements, mechanical rooms, electrical rooms, and rooftops. Ability to lift approximately 40-50 lbs.
