Identify and report abnormal operating conditions along with corrosion monitoring and coating maintenance on residential and commercial accounts. Occasionally read gas and electric meters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Timely and accurate completion of a gas service route consisting of 10 - 20 work orders depending on route assigned by CPS, will be assessed by CCI supervisor on daily basis. Maintain the standard of always wearing PPE correctly. Timely and accurate completion of disconnect and reconnect services. Thorough and timely corrosion inspection and coating application. Locate and verify the safe condition of all meter's gas and electric. Immediate reporting of all abnormal operating conditions. Disconnection & reconnection of electric and gas services at the meter and the application of appropriate locking devices. Complete and accurate data entry on all Utility Company work orders. Maintain the highest standards of customer service while effectively managing customer's complaints, concerns, and referrals to a CCI Supervisor. Effectively negotiate over and under obstacles without injury. Responsibly manage and overcome hostile situations, which may include hostile customers, contact with domestic and wild animals (some of which may be dangerous) and continuous exposure to physically demanding and rigorous working environments. Position is 100% outdoor position. Working in all conditions (100 degree weather, rain snow) Ability to understand, comprehend, and comply with all industry standards and procedures. Maintain the highest standards of customer service while effectively managing customers' complaints, concerns, and referrals to a CCI Supervisor. Effectively negotiate over and under obstacles without sustaining injury. Responsibly manage and overcome hostile situations which may include hostile customer's, contact with domestic and wild animals (some of which may be dangerous) and continuous exposure to physically demanding and rigorous working environments.
OTHER REQUIRED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a valid driver's license, insurance, and registration on a reliable vehicle. Become proficient at reading and navigating maps within the CPS service area. Prepare a variety of operational reports related to gas meter service and disconnection activities.
EDUCATION AND PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent Pipeline Operators Qualification Certification- Annual training provided by CCI. Pipeline Safety Regulations (Federal Drug and Alcohol Testing 49 CFR §199, 49 CFR§40, and 49 CFR §382)- Required participation in DOT (Dept. of Transportation) pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing program.
