Austin Industrial Location:
Olin Plant, McIntosh, Alabama Austin Industrial is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Welder Helper to support welding and maintenance activities at the Olin facility in McIntosh, Alabama. The Welder Helper assists welders with the preparation, fabrication, installation, and repair of equipment, piping, and structural components while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop skills and gain experience in industrial maintenance and construction. Assist welders in the setup and performance of welding, cutting, and fabrication activities. Gather, transport, and organize tools, materials, and equipment needed for assigned tasks. Prepare work areas by cleaning surfaces, removing debris, and staging materials. Grind, chip, clean, and prepare metal surfaces for welding operations. Measure, mark, and position materials as directed by welders or supervisors. Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, and other equipment safely and effectively. Assist with rigging and material handling activities. Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Follow all Austin Industrial and Olin safety policies, procedures, and work practices. Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and job hazard analyses. Perform general labor duties and other responsibilities as assigned. High school diploma or GED preferred. Ability to work safely in an industrial plant environment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong commitment to safety and quality. Previous industrial, construction, welding, or maintenance experience. Basic knowledge of welding processes and equipment. OSHA 10 or other safety certifications. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently. Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and access confined spaces as required. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and industrial environments. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, flame-resistant clothing, and respiratory protection as required. Industrial chemical manufacturing facility. Exposure to elevated work areas, loud noise, dust, fumes, and outdoor weather conditions. May require overtime, weekends, holidays, and shift work based on project or maintenance schedules. Qualifications Required for this

  • 6+ months experience in an Industrial setting preferred. Certification/License
