This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to learn about truck equipment installation and maintenance while working alongside experienced professionals. After 6 months of employment, Apprentices will be promoted to Truck Equipment Installers and receive a pay raise to $24.00 per hour. A career as a Truck Equipment Installer can lead to pay over $100,000 per year. Responsibilities Installs truck mounted equipment including but not limited to: dump, utility and flatbed bodies; plows; spreaders; emergency lights; truck accessories; cranes; and lift gates Welds components using professional welding equipment (no prior welding experience required) Operates plasma cutter and oxy/acetylene torch Drills holes with power drills and other applicable tools as needed Assembles hydraulic systems and hoses Works with 12V DC electrical systems where needed to complete installations Requirements Basic understanding of electrical concepts and safety practices. Professional or personal experience working on vehicles. Ability to read blueprints and schematics is a plus. Familiarity with hand tools and voltmeters is beneficial but not required. Strong willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians.
