Regional and out-of-town travel required About the Position Strut Technologies is seeking skilled installers with strong construction layout, measurement, and mechanical skills to install engineered Unistrut and supplemental metal support systems. Our projects include hospitals, operating rooms, imaging suites, laboratories, data centers, and commercial facilities. Installations include medical equipment supports, suspended overhead grids, equipment rails, threaded rod assemblies, and mechanical and electrical support systems. Direct Unistrut experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with commercial HVAC, sheet-metal, electrical, pipefitting, sprinkler fitting, millwright, metal framing, acoustical ceiling, or miscellaneous metals experience are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate can take a set of drawings, establish reference points and elevations, accurately lay out the work, and complete the installation with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities Read and interpret construction drawings, engineering submittals, shop drawings, and installation details. Establish accurate centerlines, grid lines, offsets, elevations, and attachment locations using laser levels and other layout tools. Verify field dimensions and existing conditions before cutting, drilling, or installing. Measure, cut, drill, tap, and assemble Unistrut channels, fittings, brackets, threaded rods, trapezes, and supplemental metal components. Install specified concrete anchors, beam clamps, and structural attachments in accordance with approved drawings and manufacturer instructions. Check completed installations for alignment, elevation, dimensions, connection tightness, and specified torque. Coordinate work around ductwork, piping, conduit, cable trays, sprinkler systems, and structural elements. Identify drawing discrepancies or field conflicts and notify the foreman before proceeding or modifying an installation. Assist with material take-offs, staging, prefabrication, inventory tracking, and waste reduction. Work safely from ladders, scaffolds, scissor lifts, and boom lifts while following site safety and fall protection requirements. Maintain organized work areas and dependable attendance. Required Qualifications At least two years of relevant hands-on commercial construction experience. Demonstrated ability to read construction drawings and transfer dimensions accurately to field conditions. Strong measurement and construction math skills, including fractions, decimals, elevations, and offsets. Ability to use tape measures, laser levels, squares, chalk lines, and other layout equipment. Proficiency with drills, rotary hammers, impact drivers, band saws, grinders, and common installation tools. Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to work independently after receiving instructions. Ability to perform overhead work, work at elevated heights, and lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodation. Willingness to travel and work occasional nights, weekends, or varying shifts when project schedules require. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Unistrut, Superstrut, Hilti, or similar modular support systems. Experience installing medical equipment supports, ceiling grids, structural steel, or overhead mechanical and electrical supports. Familiarity with concrete anchoring systems, beam clamps, magnetic drills, and torque wrenches. Experience working from coordinated shop drawings or BIM-generated installation drawings. Experience in hospitals, laboratories, data centers, or other technically demanding facilities. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training. Aerial lift or scissor lift operator training.
