Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Millwright/Maintenance Worker Shift:
Day Shift Responsibilities:
- Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
- Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair and maintenance.
- Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advise supervisor of repair needs.
- Dismantle and reassemble machines and remove parts for repair, using appropriate tools.
- Install, replace or change machine parts and attachments according to production specifications.
- Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, parts and equipment.
- Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment and other supplies as needed.
- Record production, repair and machine maintenance information.
- Set up and operate machines and adjust controls to regulate operations.
- Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines.
- Clean machines and machine parts, using solvents, and various equipment.
- Sharpen blades or replace defective or worn blades or bands using tools.
- Lubricate or clean machines using various tools.
- Troubleshoot & repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic problems.
- Performs preventative and routine maintenance.
- Minimum 5 years' experience required.
- Be able to lift 50-100 pounds.
- Follow all operational safety standards.
- Communicate with coworkers by using signals to direct movement.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Willingness to work overtime and some Saturdays as needed.
- Works with others to identify, eliminate, reduce or control safety hazards.
- Exhibits knowledge of use of various hand tools, welding and cutting tools.
- Exhibits knowledge of welding fabricating skills.
