Potential earnings: $100,000-$115,000 annually with performance incentive and OT Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician III - Millwright/Fabricator with strong mechanical, fabrication, and industrial maintenance skills. This is a senior-level, hands-on position for someone who can repair equipment, troubleshoot problems, and design and fabricate solutions from scratch . The right person should be able to take a concept or operational need, determine how to build it, create a basic drawing or layout, select materials, fabricate and weld the assembly, install it, and make sure it works properly. We are looking for an all-around industrial maintenance professional who takes pride in their work, keeps an organized work area, communicates well, and can be trusted to take ownership of a project from concept through completion. What You'll Do Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial production and material-handling equipment Perform millwright work including equipment installation, alignment, leveling, modification, and relocation Design and fabricate equipment, guards, brackets, platforms, stands, frames, chutes, conveyor components, and other plant improvements from scratch Take an idea or concept and develop it into a practical, buildable solution Create basic sketches, drawings, layouts, and measurements before fabrication Measure, lay out, cut, drill, fit, weld, grind, finish, and install fabricated components Perform MIG welding and general steel fabrication Prep and paint fabricated components when required to provide a complete, professional installation Troubleshoot and repair conveyors, bearings, shafts, rollers, chains, sprockets, belts, gearboxes, motors, and other mechanical drive systems Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, hoses, and related components Diagnose equipment failures and identify root causes rather than simply replacing parts Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections Assist with new equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and plant improvement projects Perform basic-to-intermediate industrial electrical troubleshooting Use meters and electrical drawings to troubleshoot motors, switches, sensors, contactors, relays, and basic control circuits Maintain clean, organized work areas, tools, parts, and ongoing projects Follow LOTO and all plant safety requirements Communicate equipment status and follow-up needs clearly with production and maintenance leadership Assist and provide direction to less-experienced technicians when needed What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is an experienced millwright, industrial mechanic, fabricator, or senior maintenance technician who is comfortable working without step-by-step instructions. You should be able to look at a mechanical problem and determine how to repair it, improve it, or build a solution for it. Required Skills Strong industrial mechanical and millwright experience Strong fabrication and welding ability Ability to fabricate assemblies from a concept, sketch, or field measurements Ability to create basic fabrication drawings and layouts Strong understanding of measurements, tolerances, fit-up, and material selection Experience with conveyors and material-handling equipment Bearings, shafts, chains, sprockets, belts, pulleys, gearboxes, and mechanical drive systems Hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting Equipment installation, alignment, and modification Competent industrial electrical troubleshooting skills Strong mechanical problem-solving ability Ability to work independently and complete projects from start to finish Strong housekeeping and organizational habits Dependable attendance and punctuality Good communication skills and a professional attitude Electrical Expectations This is not primarily an electrical or controls position , but a Technician III should be comfortable around industrial electrical systems. The successful candidate should be able to safely perform basic electrical troubleshooting, use a multimeter, understand basic electrical schematics, troubleshoot motors and motor circuits, replace sensors and switches, and identify when a problem requires a higher-level electrical or controls technician. What Sets the Right Candidate Apart We're looking for someone who can be given a problem such as: "We need a safer and more reliable way to move, support, guard, or position this equipment." The right technician can look at the application, take measurements, develop a solution, sketch it out, determine the materials needed, fabricate it, weld it, install it, test it, and leave behind a clean, professional finished product. Technical ability is important, but so are ownership, reliability, organization, housekeeping, communication, and leadership . This should be someone other technicians can learn from and someone management can trust with an important repair or project.
