Job Description Insight Global is looking for a Service Technician to support an industrial sales and service distributor client in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This client provides advanced finishing, dispensing, and filtration solutions to manufacturing customers and supports critical production equipment such as paint systems, curing ovens, spray systems, and fluid/adhesive application equipment. This role is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and dependable. Day to day, this technician will support shop-based bench work and assist with field service activities. Responsibilities include disassembling and rebuilding equipment, troubleshooting issues using manuals and schematics, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting customer installations. This role requires a strong work ethic, comfort working with tools, and the ability to follow detailed instructions while developing technical skills over time. Travel is expected up to 30% for installs and service calls, with overtime paid and training provided. Skills and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade emphasis preferred) 1+ years mechanical and electrical technician experience 1+ years hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools 1+ years disassembling, cleaning, refurbishing, and reassembling equipment Ability to follow technical manuals, safety procedures, and work instructions Willingness to travel (~30%) and work occasional overtime or off-shift installs Technical school, trade school, or apprenticeship experience Certification from primary Finishing, Dispensing & Filtration vendors (e.g., Graco, GEMA, Fanuc, Sames, CFT), or ability to obtain within the first 6 months Exposure to industrial equipment or manufacturing environments Automotive or mechanical hobby or career experience (cars, engines, equipment repair) Experience with paint systems, coatings, adhesives, or fluid-handling equipment
