POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for installation of interior and exterior ductile iron, stainless steel, and plastic piping and equipment systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
  • Prepare ground for installation of underground piping.
  • Work with superintendent to layout piping systems and gather required materials.
  • Cut and align piping for installation.
  • Connect fused, glued, flanged and mechanical joint piping.
  • Install process equipment including pumps, tanks, chemical skids, strainers, aeration systems, gates, and screens.
  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
  • Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
  • Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.

QUALIFICATIONS
(The training, education and/or experience necessary to fulfill the job)
  • High School diploma/GED preferred
  • 1+ years' construction industry experience preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
  • Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hand and arms above their shoulders.
  • Must be able to exert up to 10-20 lbs.
