Job Summary This role is responsible for the overall preventative maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, and machinery as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. This role will work from 7:30pm to 6am, but must be flexible to overtime. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Job Responsibilities Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance to plant structures Install, adjust, and repair production equipment, and special purpose machines as assigned Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs, and follow through with these repairs to assure proper operation of equipment in a safe, timely manner Install equipment and/or electrical components and test to ensure proper functioning Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools Mig/Stick Welding, torch cutting, and light machining as required Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, change and clean parts/equipment to ensure proper operation Keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition Work occasionally with mobile mechanic as needed Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed Job Requirements 5+ years of experience required High school diploma or equivalent experience and training, or comparable education Ability to read and interpret instructions and operations manuals and follow step by step instructions Mechanical aptitude and ability are essential Skilled in the use of hand and power tools Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, belting, mechanics, electricity, carpentry Knowledge of CMMS system and its function Good communication skills Able to work with a team or independently Full understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance programs Familiarity with log out tag out procedures Work safely and efficiently to maintain plant support Lift tools, machinery parts, and other objects which could weigh up to 80 lbs. each.
