Position Summary We are seeking a Crane Service Technician to join our Illinois-based Field Service Team. This hands-on role is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of overhead crane systems and related lifting equipment at customer facilities throughout the Peoria area and surrounding region. What You'll Do Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair overhead crane systems, jib cranes, hoists, and related material handling equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize customer downtime. Conduct periodic inspections of cranes, hoists, and lifting devices. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, service manuals, and work orders. Safely utilize hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, forklifts, and rigging equipment to complete service work. Document inspection and repair findings and communicate recommendations to customers and management. Follow OSHA regulations, safety standards, and company procedures at all times. Direct Customer Impact:
Help customers keep their operations running safely and efficiently through quality service and technical expertise. Requirements & Qualifications Crane service experience, including inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and installation is strongly preferred. Candidates with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in industrial maintenance, equipment repair, electrical troubleshooting, or a related trade are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided for the right candidate. Mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing job site conditions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Forklift experience is a plus. OSHA 10 certification is preferred. Schedule & Travel Expectations Full-time hourly position. Flexibility for overtime, early starts, extended shifts, and occasional weekend work as needed. Weekend work is paid at an overtime rate. Job sites primarily in the Peoria, Illinois area; occasional travel may be required. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and bend for extended periods in industrial environments. Comfortable working at heights and around industrial machinery.
