Commercial Duct Installer Job Description Join our team as a Technician where you will install commercial HVAC duct systems, including rectangular, spiral, and flex systems. Your expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and job specifications will be essential to your success in this role. Responsibilities Install commercial HVAC duct systems, including rectangular, spiral, and flex systems. Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and job specifications. Measure, cut, and fabricate sheet metal components as needed. Set hangers, supports, and brackets to secure ductwork per code and contractor standards. Seal joints and seams using approved materials such as mastic and tape. Operate hand and power tools including snips, brakes, drills, and shears. Collaborate with foremen and project managers to maintain workflow and meet deadlines. Follow all safety procedures, including fall protection, PPE use, and site protocols. Assist with the installation of equipment such as VAV boxes, diffusers, and grilles. Troubleshoot installation issues and adjust duct routing as required. Essential Skills 4+ years of commercial HVAC duct installation experience. Ability to read mechanical drawings and follow layout instructions. Strong understanding of duct fittings, transitions, offsets, and takeoffs. Proficiency with sheet metal tools and fabrication basics. Comfort working at heights on lifts, ladders, and scaffolding. Reliable transportation and punctuality. Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and perform physical labor throughout the day. Work Environment You will work in a dynamic environment where safety is a priority. Expect to utilize both hand and power tools regularly, and be prepared to work at heights on lifts, ladders, and scaffolding. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
