Aluminum Extrusion Press Maintenance Specialist
Job Description
A day in this role The extrusion press slows. You arrive with a multimeter in one hand and a schematic in the other. You trace a pressure drop to a hydraulic valve, confirm the diagnosis against the prints, swap the component, and bring the press back to rate. After the line is stable, you move to predictive checks on gearboxes and bearings, complete scheduled PMs on conveyors and pumps, and finish the shift supporting a changeover—verifying alignments, making adjustments, and documenting the work you performed. Throughout the day, you keep your area tidy and operate with safety first. How you'll make an impact Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical production equipment Maintain and repair aluminum extrusion presses and all supporting equipment Diagnose issues on conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, and other rotating assets Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to avoid unplanned downtime Use a multimeter and electrical schematics to isolate and resolve electrical faults Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics Execute equipment changeovers, repairs, adjustments, and new installations Complete PM tasks and accurately record all maintenance activities Respond rapidly to breakdowns to minimize production interruptions Follow plant safety procedures and maintain an orderly, clean work area What you bring Hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Proficiency with hydraulics and pneumatics, including cylinders, valves, and related components Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair capability Experience working with motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, and pumps Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using a multimeter Fluency reading mechanical and electrical drawings/schematics Aluminum extrusion or metal manufacturing background strongly preferred Solid understanding of preventative maintenance principles Self-directed, responsive under pressure, and effective during equipment breakdowns Reliable attendance and a strong safety mindset
