POSITION SUMMARY
Are you interested in learning to become a Millwright? We are looking to give you the knowledge and training to make you successful! Learn from some of the best in the industry. The Preventive Maintenance Technician is responsible for taking a proactive approach to maintenance aimed at preventing equipment failures and prolonging asset life through regular inspections and servicing. The ideal candidate will have a safety-conscious mindset, strong mechanical aptitude, and be detail-oriented. This is a second shift position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures. Take personal responsibility for their own safety and those working around them. Participate in safety huddles, stretch huddles, and near miss program. Wear required PPE. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment: belts, chain conveyors, hydraulic, pneumatic and lubrication systems, etc. Perform routine maintenance tasks and inspections to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure optimal functionality. Clean, oil, and lubricate machines and parts to maintain performance. Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts. Understand machine function and alignments. Test equipment and ensure machine operates after work completion. Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot equipment-related challenges and improve processes. Assist with mill projects. Other duties may be assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Proficient in the use of hand and power tools. Able to work independently and as part of a team while managing time efficiently. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical environment preferred.
