is located in Walker, MI, we specialize in unique custom packaging applications using Polypropylene (PP) and Polyethylene (PE), Foam, Bubble, and Non-Woven Spun Bond Polypropylene (SBPP) protective packaging materials. Our manufacturing technology utilizes state of the art, customizable sheet, bubble bag, die cut and laminating equipment that allows us to produce custom packaging. We are looking for an experienced Machine Set Up Technician to join our team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Follows safe operating procedures and practices 2. Responsible for adhering to plant and shift policies and procedures 3. Performs quality checks as indicated by the standard operating procedures 4. Promotes team building and positive culture 5. Works with Team Lead to interpret schedule and plan change overs to minimize down time 6. Responsible for machine set ups, performing adjustments and assist in roll changes 7. Repairs equipment as needed 8. Assist in training Operators, Material Handlers and other Set up Technicians to achieve production goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) 9. Responsible for following quality procedures and safety procedures 10. Assists Team Lead in reaching shifts Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), machine hours, efficiencies and quality 11. Continuous Improvement Job Qualifications:
1. The job requires knowledge normally acquired through the completion of High School or equivalent 2. Valid Driver's license and ability to maintain forklift truck and bridge crane certificates 3. Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members 4. Mental ability to periodically handle pressures related to working on projects requiring attention and detail and if/when priorities and job duties change on a frequent basis 5. Follow work and quality instructions 6. Demonstrated comprehension of basic math skills, e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, etc. 7. Accurately use a tape measure 8. Mechanical aptitude 9. Must be able to independently resolve issues with a degree of creativity and latitude 10. Physical ability to lift, transport equipment and materials weighing up to 70 pounds as well as work in awkward positions requiring bending and twisting 11. Ability to read, write and speak
