Industrial Molding Equipment Specialist
Job Description
About the Role As an Industrial Molding Equipment Specialist, you will ensure the peak performance of high-volume plastic injection molding systems. You will play a critical role in maximizing production uptime by applying advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting expertise to complex manufacturing machinery. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance programs to extend the lifecycle of injection molding presses and auxiliary systems. Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic failures to minimize production downtime. Optimize the functionality of peripheral equipment including robots, thermolators, dryers, and vacuum pumps. Maintain precise documentation of all repairs, work orders, and maintenance activities to ensure operational transparency. Uphold rigorous safety standards, including strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols and 5S workplace organization. Collaborate with production teams to identify equipment bottlenecks and implement long-term technical improvements. Qualifications Required Skills 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience specifically with plastic injection molding equipment. Proficiency in electrical systems diagnostics, including single and three-phase power and schematic reading. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial pneumatic systems. Demonstrated ability to use precision tools such as multimeters and voltage detectors. Commitment to industrial safety regulations and quality management standards. Preferred Skills Associate Degree in a technical or maintenance-related field. Direct experience with major molding machine brands such as Milacron, Toshiba, or Engel. Experience working within automotive component manufacturing environments. Familiarity with TS16949 quality policies and documentation requirements.
