Position Summary Opsun Corporate is looking for a skilled Electromechanical Technician to join our Operations team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, setting up, and improving a variety of production equipment and automated manufacturing systems. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control-related issues; perform preventive and corrective maintenance; complete equipment setups and adjustments; and work with the Operations team to identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability. Beyond maintenance, you will actively contribute to production by executing cutting, drilling, fastening, and assembly tasks to meet quality targets and delivery schedules. Machine Operation:
Safely operating industrial production equipment — including band saw, cold saw, press drill, Mill drill, screwing machines and Automated Manufacturing Cell — in accordance with technical specifications, quality standards, and all applicable safety procedures.
Electromechanical Troubleshooting & Repair:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control-related issues on production equipment and automated manufacturing systems. Identify root causes, perform corrective actions, replace or repair failed components, and escalate complex issues when necessary.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments, lubrication, component replacement, and repairs to reduce unplanned downtime, improve equipment reliability, and extend equipment service life.
Automated Equipment Support:
Provide technical support for automated manufacturing equipment, including sensors, actuators, motors, safety devices, and machine control systems. Assist with identifying and correcting equipment faults and recurring downtime issues.
Machine Setup & Changeover:
Set up, calibrate, adjust, and verify production equipment for manufacturing runs. Ensure proper tooling, fixtures, machine settings, and operating parameters are in place and validate equipment operation before production.
Production Equipment Support:
Support the safe operation of production equipment including band saws, cold saws, drill presses, mill drills, fastening equipment, and automated manufacturing cells. Assist with production activities when operational needs require additional support Qualifications and Key Skills
- Minimum 3-4 years years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance (must), electromechanical systems, manufacturing equipment maintenance, automation, or a related technical environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in machining, industrial mechanics, or a related field is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to operate industrial production equipment (band saw, cold saw, press drill, screwing machines or similar)
- Working knowledge of machine maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Adaptable to fluctuating production volumes throughout the year.
- Familiarity with jig and fixture setup
- Familiarity with pneumatic systems and basic troubleshooting
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations
- Autonomous and proactive — able to identify issues and act without waiting to be told
- Reliable and consistent — shows up, follows through, takes ownership
- Team-oriented with good communication skills
