Overview Join our commercial plumbing team as an Equipment Operator/Sewer Layer and play a vital role in building and maintaining essential infrastructure. This energetic position offers the opportunity to operate heavy machinery, perform sewer installation, and contribute to large-scale utility projects. We are seeking motivated individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, prioritize safety, and are eager to develop their skills in construction utility work. Your expertise will help ensure efficient project completion while adhering to all safety regulations and operational standards. Duties Operate heavy construction equipment including excavators, loaders, and other machinery to perform excavation, grading, and utility installation tasks. Lay sewer pipes accurately according to project specifications, ensuring proper alignment and connection. Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on all machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance with equipment safety procedures. Utilize utility locating tools to identify underground utilities before excavation, preventing damage and ensuring safety. Assist with construction site setup, including site grading and preparing work zones for ongoing construction activities. Follow federal construction safety regulations and safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe work environment for all team members. Collaborate with team members on construction utility work projects, ensuring timely completion while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and water trucks in a construction setting. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance on construction machinery. Familiarity with construction utility work, including sewer installation and excavation techniques. Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures is essential. Valid driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving preferred. Ability to read blueprints, site plans, and technical diagrams related to utility installation projects. Construction site experience demonstrating proficiency in excavation, grading, and utility locating tasks using modern tools and technology.
