Job Description

General Description:
The primary objective of the Maintenance Millwright is to maintain the mill and yard equipment in proper working order. PM work orders will be completed in a timely manner to ensure overall efficiency meets or exceeds the company standards. The daily activities of any maintenance personnel is subject to change due to the needs of the mill therefore, scheduled hours must be flexible. This position may also include running equipment as needed.
Responsibilities:
Work longer hours on short notice Communicating with the purchaser and Sawmill Manager to further support cost effective ways to manage purchasing and inventory control facility wide: Initiate purchasing of all consumable parts (with PM Parts Purchaser) Working with the PM Parts Purchaser and Sawmill Manager to build a Preventive Maintenance program for each area that is easily maintained: Sawmill Machinery Waste Systems and dust collection systems All outside yard equipment Compressor PM and Service Building Needs Follow PM program per the instructions outlined: Complete PM work orders as required Complete training to complete
HOT WORK
Permits Knowledge of cutting torches
Weld/Fabricate:
Mig & Stick Welding Assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools Troubleshoot and replace / repair defective parts Adjust clearances and align parts Learn to operate all sawmill equipment efficiently
Problem Solving:
Analyze information and evaluate to choose the best solution to solve problem Travel to all locations as needed Work a minimum of 20% OFF production hours each week (when the facility is not running) Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications /
Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Effective Written and Oral communication skills Able to work well with minimal supervision Ability to Prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures 5+ years relevant maintenance experience
