Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Equipment Technician IV to join a Reliability and Maintenance Group supporting oil and gas operations in the New Mexico Delaware Basin near Carlsbad, NM . This position will focus on maintaining and repairing rotating equipment, high-speed compressors, engines, pumps, and VRUs to support safe, reliable, and efficient oil and gas production. Key Responsibilities Perform maintenance and repair of high-speed compressors, engines, pumps, VRUs, and other rotating equipment . Execute high-speed compressor maintenance programs and established maintenance practices. Manage assigned tools, equipment, parts, and inventory required for maintenance activities. Manage work-order backlog to maximize compressor uptime and reliability . Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce costs. Perform root cause failure analysis and recommend corrective actions. Support compressor surveillance to maximize uptime and production throughput. Support OPEX reduction and compression optimization initiatives. Perform basic troubleshooting of automation and electrical equipment . Maintain safe and clean work areas and follow all applicable safety procedures. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, MOC, PSSR, audits, and other applicable standards. Coordinate contract resources when approved by supervision. Work collaboratively with other teams to achieve safety, environmental, reliability, and production goals. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. 1-3 years of industrial maintenance experience . Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing rotating equipment , such as pumps, compressors, and VRUs. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills. Ability to perform root cause failure analysis . Knowledge of oil and gas surface equipment and its applications. Basic troubleshooting knowledge of automation and electrical equipment . Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience maintaining and repairing high-speed compressors and engines ranging from 500-2,500 HP . Previous experience in the oil & gas industry . Experience with SAP . Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Physical & Safety Requirements Ability to work in an industrial/oil & gas environment and respond to safety alarms. Ability to work around potential hazards, including extreme heat or cold, chemicals, and elevated areas . Ability to climb and descend stairs and travel long distances throughout the facility. Ability to lift, carry, stoop, bend, and reach as required. Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) . Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. This is a fully onsite position in the Carlsbad, NM / New Mexico Delaware Basin area.
