Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift Bedford Heights, OH Monday-Friday | 2:45 PM-10:45 PM About the Opportunity We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our busy Bedford Heights manufacturing facility on 2nd shift. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical or electrical trades, or related manufacturing environments. You'll play an important role in keeping production equipment and facility operations running safely and efficiently. The position offers exposure to a wide variety of equipment and systems, making it a great opportunity for someone who wants to continue building their technical skills and position themselves for future promotional opportunities. While the starting rate is $26/hour, pay is competitive based on skills and experience, and candidates with strong maintenance backgrounds may be considered at a higher rate. What You'll Do Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment Troubleshoot equipment and various production lines Dismantle defective machinery and equipment and install new or repaired components Clean, lubricate, and maintain bearings, gears, and other machinery components Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and fabrication Assist with equipment repairs and preventative maintenance Schedule and complete preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems Analyze work processes and equipment and recommend improvements to processes and efficiencies Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) as an authorized associate in support of non-routine or major repairs Maintain a safe and clean work environment and follow all OSHA and company safety requirements Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) Work collaboratively with the maintenance and production teams to meet operational goals Assist with housekeeping and other job-related responsibilities as needed What We're Looking For We are interested in candidates with exposure to industrial equipment maintenance, repair, and installation through experience in trades such as: Electrical Mechanical maintenance HVAC Plumbing Welding Industrial manufacturing Candidates should also have experience using a variety of tools, including basic hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
You'll Stand Out With:
5+ years of maintenance or related experience Experience in a large industrial manufacturing facility Steel industry experience Strong knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics Fabrication and welding experience Knowledge of electronics and electrical power systems PLC experience Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, CAD drawings, and technical drawings Experience troubleshooting and repairing flat-rolled steel processing equipment, such as slitters and cut-to-length lines Lift truck maintenance experience Experience with Windows-based computer applications and Microsoft Office What You Bring Strong attention to detail Ability to follow established processes and procedures Strong communication skills with management and coworkers Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills Willingness to learn and expand your technical knowledge Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Flexibility to occasionally travel as needed Ability to provide and maintain your own tools and toolbox, including wrenches up to 1" Physical Requirements This is a hands-on industrial position.
Candidates must be able to:
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Mount and dismount equipment Walk, climb, bend, and work in various physical positions for extended periods Work in hot and cold environments depending on weather and facility conditions Safely perform maintenance activities in an active manufacturing environment Schedule Monday-Friday | 2:45 PM-10:45 PM Overtime may be required based on business needs. Overtime is available but not guaranteed.
