POSITION SUMMARY
Repairs applicable machinery and equipment: Trouble shooting, ordering, repairing or fabricating needed items, installing calibrating and adjusting equipment and machinery as necessary for optimum operation. Maintain plant and equipment at
Depot and Branches:
Repairing structures, upgrading building features such as: Lighting, wiring and plumbing, making modifications to facilitate installation of new equipment, and fabricating appropriate safety guards to satisfy OSHA guidelines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Have a working knowledge of all equipment. Communicate to immediate Supervisor status of all equipment not in working condition; to prioritize and coordinate work schedule. Maintain OSHA required maintenance records for all equipment. Maintain supply of perishable parts. Maintain proper tools for immediate repair of minor breakdowns. Work with supervision in appraisal of major repairs. Be able to understand and follow direction with little supervision. Always be on the alert for cost saving suggestions and implement the same. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Assist supervision in acquiring and renting other equipment when necessary. Constantly improve technical knowledge through additional training. Performs other duties as related or assigned. Good attendance is an essential function of this job.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED. Machine repair apprentice program or equivalent. Working knowledge of electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electronics, carpentry, and masonry. Strong mechanical background. Experience in fabricating metal structures
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to work without supervision. Capable of using various hand tools and measuring instruments. Able to improvise when necessary. Ability to meet physical demands of position (i.e. lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, climbing, and work from high places).
