A Millwright installs and assembles large industrial machines, such as the equipment in manufacturing facilities. Disassembles and moves machinery between factory sites, and makes repairs. May work at power plants and construction sites.
The University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College is seeking part-time instructors (adjunct faculty) to teach in our Industrial Machinery, Industrial Automation and Maintenance, and related technical programs at multiple locations, including our main campus (Rio Grande) as well as our centers in Jackson, McArthur, and Pomeroy, OH. Instructors may be assigned courses across these programs based on individual qualifications and experience.
Courses may include:
Basic Electricity/Electronics Industrial Controls & Programmable Controllers (PLCs) Hydraulics, Pneumatics & Vacuum Systems Mechanical Skills Fanuc CNC Water, Cooling & Filtration Systems Preventive/Predictive Maintenance Rigging Basic and Advanced Welding Industrial Prints and Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) Manufacturing Processes Blueprint & Schematic Diagram Reading Robotics Instruction will be in-person. Instructors are not expected to be qualified to teach all listed courses - assignments are matched to each instructor's specific trade background and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in a related field AND 1-3 years of practical/industry experience; OR a minimum of 5 years of documented, relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree (e.g., journeyman status, industry certifications such as NIMS or Fanuc certification, OSHA credentials, AWS welding certification, or equivalent trade licensure) Bachelor's degree in a related area and prior teaching experience preferred Relevant industry credentials strongly encouraged and considered as part of qualification review, including but not limited to: licensed electrician or journeyman card (electrical/controls courses), Fanuc certification (CNC), AWS or equivalent welding certification (welding courses), rigging certification (Rigging), or equivalent manufacturer/trade credentials aligned to the course area(s) of interest
