This is an entry-level position designed for individuals eager to learn and develop technical skills in crane system installation, steel erection, rigging, welding, and fabrication . This role provides hands-on training , mentorship from experienced technicians, and the opportunity to grow into a full-time Crane Installation Technician .
Pay Range:
$24/hr - $30/hr
Installation Technician Apprentice Role & Responsibilities:
Assist senior technicians in the layout, installation, and assembly of overhead crane systems and supporting structures. Learn and perform basic steel erection tasks , ensuring proper alignment and secure attachment of structural components. Support rigging and lifting operations , safely handling materials and equipment under supervision. Participate in welding and fabrication training , following
AWS D1.1
standards and company Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). Follow all OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, and
DOT/FMCSA
safety regulations , maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment. Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing installation issues , making necessary adjustments under guidance. Document and report installation activities, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards . Travel as required (approximately 9 days per month ) to assist with out-of-town crane installations .
Installation Technician Apprentice Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent (Technical school or vocational training is a plus). Mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn crane installation, welding, fabrication, and rigging techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings (training provided). Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety . Ability to work at heights up to 50 feet using lifts and scaffolding. Comfortable lifting up to 75 pounds and working in industrial environments. Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements. OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification (preferred, but training will be provided). Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
