A Millwright installs and assembles large industrial machines, such as the equipment in manufacturing facilities. Disassembles and moves machinery between factory sites, and makes repairs. May work at power plants and construction sites.
Perform layout, fabrication and repair of equipment and structures Troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and distribution systems Analyze simple drawings, follow specifications, oral instructions and general requirements across the following trades: carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing, while under minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Mechanical:
Install, diagnose and repair complex and simple equipment; use typical mechanics tools; work from drawings and verbal instructions or sketches; monitors boilers and makes adjustments
Plumbing:
Make necessary repairs on distribution equipment; use of plumbing tools; use of pro-press; have working knowledge of hot work permit system
Electrical:
Plans, lays out, installs wiring circuits and distribution systems to applicable codes; follow lockout/tagout procedures; install simple data lines and use testing equipment
Painter:
Selects proper tools and equipment; prepare paint including machine and mixing; use spray equipment; set up work site; estimate paint; prepare surfaces including cleaning, patching and minor repairs; performs spackling, caulking, sanding and taping applications
Carpentry:
General rough in carpentry; be familiar with carpentry tools and procedures
General:
Keep work areas and equipment clean; work with minimal supervision; essential personnel may be called in emergencies during day or night, including but not limited to snow removal; may be asked to work overtime; computer skills to log on to CMMS to log time and retrieve work orders; answer e-mails; will be needed for event set-up and moving furniture
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma Minimum 3-5 years working in the trades
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Associates degree from an accredited trade school 5 plus years working in the trades
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Confined space entry Forklift certification Powered actuated tools
OSHA 10 PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Occasionally climb (ladders, scaffolds or other); twist, bend, stoop, squat, reach, work above shoulders; lift, carry, push, pull objects that weigh up to 50 lbs; work in confined spaces with proper equipment and training; exposure to temperature extremes
WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Indoors/outside; travel around campus or going for parts.
SCHEDULE
40 hours per week; 52 weeks per year; Four 10-hour shifts, 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. / 12:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m.; 30 minute lunch break.
