Refurbishment Technician

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Establishes and maintains the preventive maintenance schedules for the refurbishment center's equipment. Performs the more complex preventive maintenance tasks for the refurbishment centers equipment. Diagnose and repair the mechanical aspects of the refurbishment center's equipment. When not handling a maintenance related issue this position will perform the day-to-day activities of either a mass spectrometer operator or tanks assembler. Material handling of awkward and heavy CO2 vessels up to 6 ft. tall and weighing up to 750 lbs. Maintains an extremely clean and well-organized work area.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to comprehend more complex instructions, correspondence, and memos in written or oral form. Ability to read and legibly write correspondence and accurately convey information whether by phone or e-mail. Must be able to read and write English. Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to self-teach oneself machine operations from a manual. Ability to foster strong relationships with colleagues and field personnel.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

High school diploma or equivalent Technical Degree considered a plus.

EXPERIENCE

Should possess good equipment troubleshooting skills. Good employment record demonstrating good job stability. Quality Control testing experience using instrumentation is considered a plus.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Will be expected to take courses in vacuum technology and helium leak detection techniques.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods. Must be able to maneuver tanks weighing up to 430 lbs. and up to 6 ft. tall into position to test. Must be able to bend, stretch, pull, and go into kneeling position and return to standing position multiple times per day.
