Job Description

Description:
Perform hot work cutting of wind turbine components and heavy steel using oxy-fuel torches and other specialized tools. Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety procedures, including wearing required PPE. Prepare materials for cutting by inspecting, cleaning, and staging work areas. Identify and separate recyclable materials in accordance with project recycling plans. Collaborate with site supervisors, spotters, and other crew members to coordinate safe operations. Conduct routine equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs or malfunctions. Assist with loading and unloading components for transport. Maintain accurate documentation of work completed and materials processed. Immediately report hazards, near misses, or incidents to the Site Superintendent.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on machining processes. Proficiency in operating various machinery, including but not limited to CNC laser cutting, welding, and fabrication tools. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Familiarity with tooling, assembly processes, and sheet metal work is preferred. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. Experience with cranes for material handling is a plus. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
