Cactus Varied Industries is a millwright, fabrication, and engineering company based in Amarillo, Texas, and a division of Cactus Feeders. The company provides a wide range of millwright and fabrication services supporting agricultural operations. Cactus Feeders is a 100% employee-owned organization with 600 employees and operations across Texas, Kansas, & Colorado.
Position Summary:
The Millwright is responsible for the installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of feedyard feed mill equipment and systems. This role involves working with industrial machinery in a feed mill environment and may also include concrete work. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including occasional work outside normal business hours and limited overnight travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and construct feed mill equipment and systems Perform routine maintenance and repair of industrial machinery Conduct welding and cutting tasks as needed Operate heavy equipment such as man baskets, telehandlers, skid loaders, and loaders Assist with pouring, placing, and finishing concrete Work at heights and in various outdoor conditions Follow all company policies and OSHA safety regulations Collaborate with team members and complete tasks independently when required Be available to work extended hours or weekends as needed Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in feed mill or agricultural construction operations Proven welding skills preferred Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities Attention to detail and effective time management skills Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Work Environment:
Primarily outdoor and industrial settings Exposure to varying weather conditions Physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods
