Job Description

Job Purpose:
The Equipment Technician I is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role supports the operational efficiency of the organization by ensuring that all equipment is functioning correctly and meets the required standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime. Collaborate with team members and other departments to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory. Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment as needed. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance and repair activities. Provide support and guidance to junior technicians and assist in their training and development. Continuously seek opportunities to improve equipment performance and efficiency through proactive maintenance strategies.
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree or certification in electronics, mechanical, or a related field is preferred.
Required Experience:
At least 1 year of experience in equipment maintenance or repair, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Experience working with a variety of tools and equipment, including diagnostic and testing instruments. Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in an industrial environment.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams. Proficiency in using hand and power tools for equipment repair and maintenance. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and supervisors. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with maintenance management software and email communication.
