JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary The Welder Assistant performs a variety of duties to assist the Welder under the supervision and direction of the Maintenance Supervisor. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. Operates a variety of tools to clean and cut metals (i.e. grinder, chop saw) 2. Uses additional equipment to cut and heat metals (i.e. oxygen/acetylene torch, plasma cutter) 3. Keeps the work area clean and organized 4. Must be able to stand between 2 - 3 hours at a time. 5. Must be willing to follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) of the company which include but are not limited to: use of a hair net, use of a company approved frock, no jewelry, no nail polish or artificial nails, no shorts, no open-toed shoes, no ripped clothing or rhinestones/glitter on clothing, no chewing gum, candy or tobacco. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: The employee must often lift and/or move up to 20 pounds The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Frequent use/motion of hands, wrists and arms are required The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or bend. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. 40+ hours per week.

Hours of work:

Monday through Friday, start and finish time varies depending on workload. 10 - 12 hour work days are common. Weekends and overtime hours are often required. Schedule is subject to change with or without advance notice.
