We are looking for an experienced Industrial Gearbox Technician to join our repair and assembly team. We need a hands-on mechanical technician who can tear down, inspect, diagnose, repair, measure, and rebuild industrial gearboxes and rotating equipment. This is NOT a parts-changing job. We need someone who can determine why a gearbox failed, what needs to be repaired or replaced, and how to rebuild it correctly. Responsibilities Disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild industrial gearboxes. Identify bearing, gear, shaft, seal, lubrication, alignment, and overheating issues. Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and other tools. Check backlash, endplay, shaft runout, fits, and gear contact patterns. Document inspection findings and repair recommendations. Work with machinists, welders, QC, and assembly personnel. Qualifications Hands-on experience repairing industrial gearboxes, rotating equipment, or heavy mechanical assemblies. Strong knowledge of gears, bearings, shafts, seals, fits, lubrication, and alignment. Ability to safely work with heavy components, cranes, lifting equipment, and shop tools. Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work independently. Steel mill or heavy industrial experience is a strong plus.
