Full-TimePOSITION SUMMARY
Ward Timber Company is seeking an experienced Millwright to join our sawmill maintenance team. The Millwright will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and installing sawmill machinery and mechanical equipment to keep production running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is a dependable, mechanically skilled individual who can diagnose problems, perform preventative maintenance, and make repairs in a fast-paced industrial environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install sawmill machinery and mechanical equipment. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine the appropriate repair. Repair and maintain conveyors, saws, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulic systems, chains, sprockets, belts, and other mill equipment. Perform alignment of shafts, motors, gearboxes, pulleys, and other rotating equipment. Replace and repair bearings, belts, chains, couplings, and other wear components. Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and basic machining as needed. Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Assist with equipment installation, setup, and modifications. Inspect equipment for worn or damaged components and address problems before they result in equipment failure. Respond quickly to mechanical breakdowns and minimize production downtime. Work closely with sawmill operators and other maintenance personnel to identify equipment problems. Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area. Follow all company safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements. Properly use and maintain hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance equipment. Document repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used as required. Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience as a Millwright, Industrial Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or similar position , preferably in a sawmill or other industrial/manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills. Experience working with rotating equipment, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics, and other industrial machinery. Welding and fabrication experience preferred. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and equipment manuals. Ability to use common hand and power tools safely. Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Ability to work safely in a demanding industrial environment.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and work in awkward positions for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry heavy tools and equipment. Ability to work around moving machinery, noise, dust, heat, and other sawmill conditions. Ability to work from ladders, platforms, and elevated areas. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).WORK SCHEDULE
This position may require overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency/after-hours work when necessary to maintain mill operations.WHAT WE OFFER
