This position assists welders with material preparation, equipment, and general fabrication tasks while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Responsibilities Follow all safety policies and procedures and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Assist welders and lead welders with daily welding and fabrication activities. Prepare, position, and handle materials and workpieces for welding. Safely use hand tools, power tools, welding-related equipment, and cutting equipment as trained and authorized. Assist with measuring and inspecting workpieces to ensure they meet required specifications. Read and follow basic prints, measurements, and work instructions as required. Assist with cutting or dismantling metal using torches, plasma-cutting equipment, or other approved tools when properly trained. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards. Report equipment issues, safety concerns, incidents, or other problems promptly to a supervisor. Complete all required company and safety training. Work from ladders or scaffolding when required. Perform additional duties, tasks, and projects assigned by the supervisor or lead welder. Qualifications Previous welding, fabrication, or industrial experience is preferred. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is preferred. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Willingness to learn and develop welding and fabrication skills. Ability to work safely in a physically demanding fabrication environment. Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
