They have hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, motor and bearing replacements, alignments, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, and compressors. This individual can troubleshoot mechanical systems, read blueprints, use precision measuring tools, and support reliable plant operations. They are dependable, physically capable of working in an industrial environment, and committed to maintaining a safe and productive workplace.
What you will do:
As a Mechanic C, you will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on plant and quarry equipment to support safe, reliable operations. You will diagnose and repair mechanical systems, replace and install equipment components, perform alignments and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment, and assist with new equipment installations. You will work with precision measuring tools, interpret mechanical drawings and specifications, and ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Experience:
Must have experience with bearing replacements, motor replacements, motor alignments, equipment rebuilds, preventive maintenance, compressor experience, screw conveyors, belt conveyors, elevators, gearboxes, and various pumps, etc. Must have a minimum of three years cement plant or heavy industry experience performing mechanical / preventive maintenance tasks. Stable work history. Skills and abilities you will need: General mechanical and millwright skills Must be able to work any shift as needed. Welding and fabrication experience preferred, but not required. Be able to perform the necessary mechanical repairs relative to cement plant operation. Be able to use necessary measuring devices, and tolerances understanding to perform the duties of the position. Lubrication system troubleshooting and system repairs, and Basic Hydraulics. Basic equipment part nomenclature understanding. Be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, sketches, and manufacturer's specifications. Be able to operate oxy-acetylene and electrical welding and cutting equipment to satisfactorily weld or cut all types of metal in any position. Be able to make new equipment and machinery installations. Be able to make necessary motor and equipment alignments, and basic vibration and troubleshooting on equipment. Be able to apply proper safety requirements to any/all jobs being done Be able to perform such clean-up work as is necessary to keep tools, equipment, and working areas clean, orderly, and safe. Good physical condition as position requires bending, kneeling, walking, standing, climbing, stairs and lifting; high degree of manual dexterity and coordination and good eye/hand coordination.
