Position Summary The Residential Home Framer is a hands-on production role responsible for the precise layout, cutting, and assembly of structural wall and floor panels. Operating in a traditional, mechanical plant environment, this position utilizes specialized assembly tables, squaring machinery, and heavy material handling equipment. Working within a dedicated production crew, you will transform raw lumber into engineered building components according to structural design plans. This role is ideal for rough carpenters, framers, or construction laborers looking for steady, stable year-round work. What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

Component Assembly:

Measure, cut, and square lumber components to manually assemble structural wall panels, floor decks, and rough openings.

Layout Execution:

Read and follow building layout plans to position studs, plates, headers, and sheathing accurately on assembly tables.

Fastener Operation:

Secure wood framing members, plywood, and sheathing safely using pneumatic nail guns, industrial framing staplers, and hand tools.

Material Management:

Select, verify, and pull appropriate grades and dimensions of lumber from inventory bins to keep the assembly line stocked.

Quality & Precision:

Perform continuous physical checks of finished panels, using a tape measure to verify squareness, overall dimensions, and flush joints.

Housekeeping & Safety:

Maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace by sweeping sawdust, clearing wood scraps, and strictly following all plant safety protocols. What We're Looking For (Qualifications)

Experience:

1+ years of residential framing, rough carpentry, remodeling, or structural wood manufacturing experience preferred.

Measurement Mastery:

Strong basic math skills and the absolute ability to read a tape measure accurately down to 1/16th of an inch.

Technical Literacy:

Ability to read, interpret, and build directly from structural blueprints, design plans, and manufacturing shop layouts.

Physical Stamina:

Comfort working in a noisy, fast-paced plant environment; ability to stand for an 8-to-9 hour shift on concrete flooring and repeatedly lift lumber weighing up to 50 lbs.

Reliability:

A safety-conscious, team-oriented mindset with a highly dependable attendance record for early morning starts.
