Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated RF Drive Tester specialized in 4G and 5G network performance analysis to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive drive tests using advanced XCal equipment to evaluate and optimize radio frequency (RF) signals across various cellular networks. Duties Operate RF drive testing equipment, including XCal systems, to collect real-time 4G and 5G network performance data during drive tests across designated routes. Analyze RF signal quality, coverage, interference, and throughput metrics to identify areas for network improvement. Perform detailed troubleshooting of radio frequency issues by interpreting electrical schematics, circuit boards, and system diagnostics. Utilize diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, spectrum analyzers, and electronic testing devices to pinpoint faults in RF components and electronic systems. Conduct root cause analysis of network performance problems through systematic testing and data analysis. Collaborate with engineering teams to develop optimized test plans using project scheduling tools and AutoCAD for layout planning. Document test results accurately using scripting languages like Python or CAD software such as Revit or MicroStation for detailed reporting and network modeling. Assist in maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) of electronic equipment and RF infrastructure components including circuit boards, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and surface mount technology (SMT). Read electrical schematics and blueprints to interpret complex electrical systems involving electro-mechanical components and circuit testing procedures. Support ongoing network optimization initiatives by providing detailed feedback on equipment troubleshooting, electrical diagnostics, and circuit testing outcomes. Experience Proven experience in RF drive testing within 4G LTE and 5G NR networks with a focus on signal measurement and analysis. Strong background in electrical engineering principles with hands-on experience in troubleshooting electronic equipment and circuit boards. Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and other electronic testing devices. Skilled in interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints (including NEC standards), schematics diagrams, and technical drawings using CAD software like AutoCAD or Revit. Experience with programming languages such as Python or scripting for automation of testing processes is highly desirable. Knowledge of microcontroller-based systems including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in RF infrastructure maintenance. Ability to perform mechanical knowledge tasks related to the assembly, repair, or maintenance of electro-mechanical components within wireless equipment. Demonstrated capability in project scheduling for test planning and execution within fast-paced environments involving multiple stakeholders. Strong understanding of electrical wiring standards, circuit boards assembly, surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, and electrical wiring diagnostics. Prior experience supporting manufacturing or field operations involving electronic systems troubleshooting and maintenance is a plus.
