Job Summary:

Qualifications:

+ Hands-on installation experience in radio communications and a strong understanding of two-way radio theory and communications systems. + The ability to program, troubleshoot, and perform system diagnostics on both simple and complex radio systems. + Proficiency using industry-standard test equipment, including service monitors/analyzers, watt meters, and hand tools. + Knowledge of battery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, multicouplers, duplexers, and basic networking concepts. + Experience with Microsoft Office applications and specialized radio programming software. + A strong understanding of RF theory. + The ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities:

+ Repair and provide technical support and documentation for Low Band, VHF/UHF, and 800/900 MHz analog and digital systems, mobile and portable subscriber equipment, simulcast, conventional, trunking, paging, telemetry, and microwave systems. + Install, maintain, and repair base systems, repeaters, remote controls, multiplexers, antenna systems, microwave systems, battery backup systems, and solar power systems. + Install and maintain dispatch console equipment. + Diagnose and repair PA systems, BDA/DAS systems, and other electronic components. + Train junior technicians and provide leadership and mentorship to team members.

Preferred Certifications:

+ FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL). + Certified Electronics Technician (CET) or equivalent industry certification. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlottesville, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
