In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, installing new equipment, and providing exceptional service to our clients. Your expertise will help maintain safe, efficient, and reliable refrigeration and HVAC systems across various commercial and industrial settings. Duties Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration systems, HVAC units, electrical systems, plumbing, and mechanical equipment using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and mechanical knowledge. Perform routine maintenance on refrigeration units, HVAC systems—including air conditioning units, boilers, building automation systems—and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance. Install new refrigeration equipment and HVAC systems in accordance with design specifications and safety standards. Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, fans, electrical wiring, thermostats, valves, and other mechanical parts. Conduct system inspections to identify potential issues early and implement preventative maintenance strategies. Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to complete repairs efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, schematics used, and parts replaced for accountability and future reference. Collaborate with clients to provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and system functionalities clearly. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations related to refrigerants (EPA certification required) and other environmental standards. Assist in the installation of HVAC/R systems in new construction or renovation projects while coordinating with project managers. Drive company vehicles safely between job sites as a van driver when required. Skills Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in refrigeration, HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance. Construction experience is highly desirable for understanding building layouts and integrating systems effectively. Ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical wiring, plumbing diagrams, HVAC design plans, and building automation systems. Mechanical knowledge covering HVAC/R equipment troubleshooting and mechanical systems repair. Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, multimeters (ohmmeters), pipe cutters, etc., for effective repairs. Strong electrical diagnostics skills for troubleshooting electrical issues within complex HVAC or refrigeration systems. Knowledge of refrigerants management in compliance with EPA regulations; EPA certification is required. Familiarity with plumbing components related to HVAC systems for comprehensive troubleshooting. Experience with building automation systems that control climate settings across large facilities. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Mechanical aptitude combined with problem-solving skills for equipment troubleshooting and repairs under tight deadlines. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments while maintaining safety standards at all times.
